Feast of the Assumption, Saint Roch and U Sceccu Pacciu

The 2025 edition took place as per tradition from August 14th to 16th in Gallodoro, in the province of Messina. On August 15th, the community celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, with the gathering of the confraternity banners and the evening procession of the Virgin's statue. On August 16th, dedicated to Saint Roch, the festivities concluded at night with the highly anticipated U Sceccu Pacciu: around 1:00 AM, the figure of the "crazy donkey" covered in pyrotechnics burst into the main square, chasing the crowd amidst trails of sparks, as documented by the local press. The event, supported by regional funding, confirmed the vitality of one of the most deeply felt traditions in the Taormina area.

August 15 — Feast of the Assumption of Mary
