Feast of the Assumption of Mary

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Assumption of Mary upheld the centuries-old tradition of the Sanctuary of La Gurva, in Calasca-Castiglione (Verbano-Cusio-Ossola). The day combined religious services in honor of the Assumption with the drills of the Traditional Militia of Calasca, featuring the characteristic blank-fire volleys with period weapons and a performance by the band.

As every year, the August 15th festival was part of the Militia's August cycle, between the celebration of Saint Valentine the Martyr and the repositing of the statue of the Assumption in the following days.
