Feast of San Filippo d'Agira

In 2025, the patronal festivities of Aci San Filippo took place from May 11 to 13. On May 11, at 7:00 PM, the Eucharistic celebration in the Church of Sant'Antonio da Padova kicked off the festival with the procession of the Saint's relic to the Basilica. On May 12, the day of the solemnity, celebrations began at 9:45 AM with the welcoming of Bishop Emeritus Paolo Urso and the unveiling of the statue, followed by the solemn pontifical mass; in the afternoon, at 4:30 PM, the civil ceremony with the laurel wreath at the War Memorial and the parade with the brass band, and at 7:00 PM the exit of the statue in procession. On May 13, from 7:00 PM, the final procession of the fercolo concluded the three days of festivities, with the devout participation of the Aci Catena community.
