Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Vitus
The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Vitus the Martyr, celebrated from June 13 to 16, marked the 110th anniversary of the festivities. On Friday, June 13, the celebrations opened with the departure of the statue from the Church of Santa Maria del Rosario in Allume towards the church in Contrisa.
On Saturday, June 14, the program included an exhibition of vintage vehicles by the Roccalumera Vespa Club, a Holy Mass presided over by Father Luciano D'Arrigo, an evening of Italian music with the band "Armonicamente," and a procession through the San Vito, Casazza, and Contrisa districts accompanied by the Fiumedinisi brass band. On Sunday, June 15, the Saint's liturgical day, after the Eucharistic celebration, there was a performance by the group "I Briganti di Terra d'Otranto" featuring pizzica and tarantella dances, the traditional raffle, and a fireworks display. On Monday, June 16, the feast concluded with the solemn return of the statue to the mother church in Allume. Throughout the feast, the San Vito Committee offered local culinary specialties, from oven-baked meat to traditional products.
