Feast of Saint Venera (Patron Saint of Acireale)

The 2025 Feast of Saint Venera in Acireale was part of the Holy Year, with a preparation path that began on June 26th with a mass in the Saint's chapel and a concert by the Gregoriana Etnensis school. On July 24th, the traditional day of the wax offering took place, with the procession toward the Cathedral, while on July 25th, after the statio in the church of San Rocco, a procession along Corso Umberto reached the Duomo for the solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Antonino Raspanti.

Due to the Jubilee of public officials and law enforcement, the traditional external procession of July 25th was postponed to November. On July 26th, the patron saint's day, the pontifical mass, the procession, and the singing of the hymn to the Saint took place, with the characteristic fireworks closing the festivities.
