Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Sosthenes
The 2025 Feast of Saint Sosthenes was celebrated on Sunday, September 8, in Mili San Pietro (Municipality of Messina, Sicily), renewing the centuries-old devotion to one of the least-known saints in the world. After the opening fireworks, the narrow streets of the village welcomed the Tafaria, a musical procession to the sound of drums, guitars, accordions, and friscaletti.
The procession of the saint's statue crossed the village accompanied by the "Gaetano Celeste" band of Camaro, while in the square, the Feast of Saint Sosthenes Committee hosted the customary Messina Braciola Festival. The local press highlighted the village's primacy in the veneration of Saint Sosthenes, a cult present in very few places in the world.
