Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Silverius

In 2025, Ponza once again celebrated its patron saint on June 20th, following the traditional festival structure: evening novena in the preceding days, the dawn Diana with bells, fireworks, and a brass band, a morning Eucharistic concelebration, and the grand procession carrying the statue of Saint Silverius through the port streets and out to sea on a boat covered in red carnations, followed by hundreds of vessels. In the evening, live music on Banchina Mamozio and a midnight fireworks display.

The 2025 edition

The 2025 patronal festival took place according to the traditional structure that has always marked the Ponza June: the evening novena starting on June 9th, the tours of the statue in the various areas of the island, and then the highlight day of June 20th, opened by the 6 AM Diana with the ringing of bells, firecrackers, and the island's brass band through the town streets.

At 10:30 AM, the Eucharistic concelebration in the mother church, followed by the procession with the saint's statue along the streets of Ponza and then out to sea, accompanied by hundreds of local boats. As per tradition, the return to the church square was followed by the distribution of red carnations to the faithful.

The day continued until evening with live music on Banchina Mamozio and concluded with the midnight fireworks display over the gulf, one of the most anticipated moments for residents and visitors of the Pontine archipelago.
