Feast of Saint Sebastian the Martyr — Co-patron Saint of Syracuse

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Sebastian renewed the age-old Syracusan tradition. As is customary, celebrations took place in the church of Santa Lucia alla Badia, in Piazza Duomo, with the opening of the niche and the celebration of the liturgical feast on January 20th.

The heart of the festivities was the evocative «sciuta», the exit of the venerated statue of the Saint, followed by the solemn procession through the streets of Ortigia, accompanied by the devotion of the faithful and the traditional rituals that have marked the feast of Syracuse's co-patron for generations.
