Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Philip

In 2025, Agira once again celebrated its patron saint with the May Festival, which culminated on May 12th. Following the triduum and the procession of the relics, the statue and reliquary arm were carried on the shoulders of barefoot devotees to the Abbey on the evening of the 12th, amidst votive candles and fireworks, in accordance with a tradition documented since the 16th century.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Philip of Agira in Agira (Enna) renewed the rites of the oldest of the Philippine celebrations, the May Festival. In the days leading up to May 12th, the three-day preparation, the translation of the relics, and the procession of the urn from the Church of Saint Anthony of Padua to the Abbey took place.

On the day of the festival, numerous morning masses welcomed the faithful intent on fulfilling their vows to the saint. In the evening, after Holy Mass, the procession of the statue and the reliquary arm was carried on the shoulders of barefoot devotees along the town's historic streets to the Abbey of Saint Philip, where the faithful gathered for the kissing of the blessed relic. The day concluded with traditional fireworks.
