Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Michael the Archangel in Palazzolo Acreide was celebrated on Sunday, October 5, preceded by the vigil on September 28-29. The main day began at dawn with the sound of bells and twenty-one cannon shots, followed by Holy Masses and, at 8:30 AM, the parade through the city streets with the "Akrai Città di Palazzolo A." and "Gioacchino Rossini di Pedalino" bands.

At 10:00 AM, Piazza San Michele hosted the 14th Gathering of Flag-wavers and Musicians, followed by a parade in the historic center, while at 11:00 AM, the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Archbishop Mons. Francesco Lomanto took place. At 1:00 PM, the "sciuta" of the statue, accompanied by the firing of mortars and the throwing of "nzareddi," started the procession. In the evening, a second flag-waver performance, the 8:00 PM procession, and grand fireworks (by the FA.SI.MA company) closed one of the most heartfelt days of the year for the local community.
