Edition 2025 — Saint Michael the Archangel (May 8th)

On May 8th, 2025, the Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Acireale celebrated the Feast of the Apparition of its patron and city co-patron. The 17th-century statue was unveiled to the singing of the hymn and displayed on the high altar for the veneration of the faithful throughout the day, in memory of the Archangel's second appearance on Mount Gargano. The day concluded with a solemn Mass and the repositioning of the statue in its chapel.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of the Apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel took place on May 8th at the parish of the same name in Acireale, following the established liturgical schedule. The venerated statue, carved by a Messinese artist in the 17th century and recently restored, was displayed all day for the devotion of the district's faithful.

The occasion, dedicated to the second Gargano apparition known as the 'Victory', was organized by the Congregation of Saint Michael and concluded with a solemn evening Mass and the re-veiling of the statue, in anticipation of the grand outdoor feast on September 29th.
