Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Maurus

In 2025, Aci Castello once again celebrated its patron saint, Saint Maurus the Abbot, on January 15th, following the ancient ceremony: unveiling and pontifical mass in the morning, afternoon procession of the float through the town center, Angel's Descent at Porta Messina, blessing of the sea at the Marina, and a concluding firework display in Piazza Castello, amidst the waving of white handkerchiefs by the faithful.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Maurus the Abbot in Aci Castello took place on January 15th, in keeping with tradition. After the three-day preaching period, the day featured the morning unveiling of the statue and the solemn celebration, while in the afternoon, the saint was taken out on the float for a procession through the streets of the seaside village.

The most anticipated moments of the festival were the evocative Angel's Descent in the square of Porta Messina, the prayer for peace at the war memorial, the blessing of the sea at the Marina, and the grand firework display in Piazza Castello, which concluded with the return of the statue to the Mother Church.
