Edition 2025 — Saint Mark Feast Atina
2025 Edition
The Feast of Saint Mark, Patron Saint of Atina took place on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, in the historic center of the village, in the Val di Comino. The solemn Mass, celebrated in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta by Bishop Gerardo Antonazzo of the diocese of Sora-Cassino-Aquino-Pontecorvo, saw the participation of numerous civil authorities, including the mayor of Atina, Pietro Maria Volante, and the mayor of the twin town of Veroli, as well as a delegation of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.
The procession with the effigy of Saint Mark through the streets of the historic center was enhanced by the presence of the mounted Carabinieri patrol of the 4th Regiment of Rome, which provided a moment of great visual and emotional intensity. Upon return, the faithful performed the kissing of the relic from the 18th-century reliquary arm. The evening concluded with a concert by the wind orchestra and traditional fireworks in honor of the city's first Bishop.
