Feast of Saint Joseph

In 2025, the festivities in honor of Saint Joseph in Casteltermini, in the province of Agrigento, took place from March 10th to 19th. Every evening, the novena brought the faithful together in the Church of Saint Joseph and the Mother Church for the holy rosary, recited according to the ancient tradition in the Sicilian dialect, and for the Eucharistic celebration.

The solemnity of March 19th saw the most solemn celebrations, with the mass, the procession of the Saint's statue through the town streets, and the traditional fireworks. The popular heart of the festival was the Vicchiariddri: the votive altars set up by families and, on the morning of the 19th, the banquet shared with relatives, neighbors, and strangers, in the spirit of hospitality that has always characterized this devotion. There was no shortage of traditional flavors, from pignolata to cuddruri, the votive breads distributed to those present.
