Feast of Saint Joseph

The 2025 edition of the festivities in honor of Saint Joseph in Altavilla Milicia, Sicily, took place from March 10th to 19th. The daily novena at 4:30 PM prepared the community for the Patriarch's solemnity, with games for children on March 16th and, on March 17th, the blessing of the new halo for the statue of Saint Joseph.

On March 19th, the feast opened at 8:00 AM with the alborata and drum parade, reaching its central moment with the Solemn Holy Mass at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Chapel and the distribution of blessed bread. In the afternoon, the blessing of fathers with their children took place, followed by the procession of the statue, a traditional pot-breaking game, and the performance of a Sicilian folk group. To conclude, the free tasting of sfince, the typical pastry of the feast, and fireworks on Via Loreto.
