Feast of Saint John the Baptist

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist in Vizzini renewed an ancient appointment deeply rooted in the community of the Calatino village. The celebrations opened on August 27th with the final mass of the triduum in the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, continued on August 28th with musical moments, and reached their climax on August 29th, the day of the saint's martyrdom.

On the afternoon of the 29th, the traditional auction of gifts offered by the faithful was held; in the evening, after the symphonic concert and the Eucharistic celebration, the saint's statue was taken out in procession on the 16th-century fercolo, crossing the main streets of the city amidst the participation of the faithful and the marching band, until the final fireworks display.
