Edition 2025 — San Giovanni in Venere
The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint John the Baptist took place as tradition dictates on the night of June 23-24 at the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere in Fossacesia (Chieti).
The solstice vigil brought residents and visitors together on the lawn in front of the basilica: collecting Saint John's herbs left out for the night dew, the convivial tradition of snails to banish grudges and the evil eye, and the suspended atmosphere of the Benedictine monastery overlooking the sea. An event that renews, year after year, the bond between the community, the cult of the patron saint, and the ancient rituals linked to the shortest night of the year.
