Edition 2025 — Saint George Feast
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of the patronal feast of Locorotondo was celebrated at the beginning of May, with the traditional date (late April) shifted due to its proximity to Easter. On April 23rd, the enthronement of the sacred images took place in the Mother Church, followed by the preparation triduum from May 1st to 3rd.
On Saturday, May 3rd, the solemn 'Dono a San Giorgio' ceremony took place, with the civic procession departing from the Town Hall to the Mother Church and the display of the saint's relics. On Sunday, May 4th, the main day, the Eucharistic concelebration presided over by Archbishop Emeritus Msgr. Rocco Talucci preceded the evening procession of the patron saints' statues through the town streets. The festival was accompanied by the "Carmelo Curri" and "F.lli Caramia" brass bands, illuminations along Corso XX Settembre, the morning pyrotechnic salute, and the concluding fireworks display at the sports field, managed by the Itria Fireworks company of Martina Franca.
