The 2025 feast at the Sanctuary of Saint Gabriel

On February 27, 2025, the Sanctuary of Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows in Isola del Gran Sasso d'Italia (Teramo) celebrated the liturgical feast of the patron saint of Abruzzo. The day opened at 6:25 AM with the 24 tolls of the great bell, followed at 6:30 AM by the celebration of the transitus presided over by Father Daniele Pierangioli. Masses were held every hour, with the 11:00 AM solemn mass presided over by Mons. Lorenzo Leuzzi, Bishop of Teramo-Atri.

In the afternoon, at 3:30 PM, a sacred concert of 14 bells was held, followed at 4:00 PM by the mass of the Apostolic Nuncio Mons. Mauro Lalli, and a connection with Radio Maria. At 12:00 PM, the restoration of the ancient basilica and the Chapel of Saint Gabriel was inaugurated, which had become necessary following the damage caused by the 2016 earthquake. Numerous pilgrimages were organized from towns across Abruzzo and beyond the region.
