Feast of Saint Francis of Paola (Patron Saint)

The patronal feast of Saint Francis of Paola in Joppolo Giancaxio, in the Province of Agrigento, was celebrated on April 2, 2025, the day of the saint's liturgical memory. As per tradition, the celebrations had their focal point in the Mother Church dedicated to the patron saint, in Piazza Umberto I, with solemn masses and the procession of the statue through the village streets. The event, deeply rooted in the identity of the small community in the Akragas valley, combined religious and popular dimensions, confirming itself as one of the most cherished moments of the year for the village residents.
