Edition 2025 — Saint Francis Alessano
In 2025, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi in Alessano was part of the broader Month of Creation, promoted by the Friars Minor Capuchin together with diocesan offices and the "Don Tonino Bello" Laudato si' Circle. In the days leading up to the feast, the Capuchin Convent hosted moments of reflection: on September 27th, a meeting titled "10 years of Laudato si' and 800 years of the Canticle of the Creatures," dedicated to the time of Creation and responsibility toward the Earth; and on October 2nd, in the Convent gardens, the event "Caring for creation, caring for relationships," focusing on active aging and inclusive accessibility.
On October 4th, the day of the patron saint of Italy, liturgical celebrations in honor of Saint Francis were held at the Capuchin Church of Alessano, in the spirit of peace and care for creation that unites the message of the Poverello d'Assisi with that of Don Tonino Bello, a son of this Salento land. Admission to all initiatives was free.
