Edition 2025 — Saint Dominic in Villalago
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Dominic the Abbot in Villalago, in the Province of L'Aquila, took place according to tradition on August 21st and 22nd. On August 21st, the community welcomed the pilgrims from Fornelli, who arrived on foot at the Hermitage of Saint Dominic after an 80-kilometer journey. The day of August 22nd was dedicated to liturgical celebrations and the procession with the statue of the saint through the village streets, enlivened by a brass band concert and concluded with traditional fireworks. It was a well-attended edition, confirming the feast as one of the most significant identity-defining events in the Sagittario Valley.
