Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Costanza
A double celebration, between devotion and the Middle Ages
In 2025, the Feast of Saint Costanza the Martyr enlivened San Donato Val di Comino on the weekend of August 23 and 24, as indicated by the official summer calendar. Alongside the traditional rites—the procession of the co-patron saint carried by pages in 18th-century costumes, the pottery and onion fair in the alleys, and fireworks from the bell tower—the village experienced the grand medieval day of the 'Castrum Sancti Donati' festival.
On Saturday, August 23, in Piazza Giustino Quadrari, the events followed one another: the medieval historical pageant at 7:00 PM, the dances of the ladies of the castle at 8:30 PM, the Knighting ceremony at 9:15 PM, and, at 9:30 PM, the second edition of the Palio of Saint Costanza. On Sunday, August 24, from 10:00 AM, the same square hosted the historical medieval market, while the town celebrated the saint with mass and the traditional fair. A successful blend of faith, re-enactment, and flavors that confirmed the festival as one of the most beloved summer events in the Valle di Comino, in the province of Frosinone.
