Feast of Saint Camillus de Lellis

In 2025, the Feast of Saint Camillus de Lellis in Bucchianico took on a special significance: after thirteen years, the saint's body returned to his birthplace as part of the Camillian Jubilee Year. The procession on July 14th carried the patron's statue and relic through the streets of the historic center, accompanied by a brass band from Termoli and an honor guard from the National Carabinieri Association of Chieti. As every year, the festival was preceded by the Novena and the March of Charity, the nocturnal pilgrimage from Chieti to the Sanctuary of Saint Camillus, a moment of strong popular participation that drew numerous faithful from all over Abruzzo.
