Feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot (Patron Saint)

The 2025 edition

The patronal feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot in Castrofilippo, in the province of Agrigento, took place in June 2025 with the usual popular participation. The Sicilian Region provided a grant of 7,000 euros to support the festivities, a sign of the importance the event holds for the community of the Agrigento town.

The program confirmed the most beloved traditions: the blessed bread festival with tastings of bread and ricotta in Piazza Sant'Antonio, the evening theatrical comedy, and, on the final day, the public blessing of bread, animals, and agricultural machinery. The festival concluded with the solemn procession of the saint's statue through the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the “Padre G. Cusmano” marching band.
