Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony the Abbot

In 2025, Motta Camastra once again celebrated the Feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot on January 17th, a tradition deeply rooted in the Alcantara village community. The day featured liturgical services in honor of the patron saint of animals, the traditional procession through the village streets, and community gatherings that bring the faithful and visitors together every year for this ancient Sicilian rural festival.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot in Motta Camastra (ME) took place on the usual date of January 17th, upholding a religious and popular tradition passed down through generations in the medieval village of the Alcantara Valley. As every year, the local community paid homage to the patron saint of animals with liturgical celebrations, a procession through the historic center, and moments of shared festivity in an authentic atmosphere typical of inland Sicily and the Sicily Region.
