Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony the Abbot Forano

In 2025, the Feast of Saint Anthony the Abbot in Forano fell on Sunday, January 19th, the first Sunday after January 17th. As every year, the Lower Sabina village dedicated the day to the patron saint of animals and fields, with religious celebrations and community gatherings in the historic center, in accordance with the calendar of recurring events of the Municipality of Forano, in the province of Rieti.

Saint Anthony the Abbot 2025 in Forano

The 2025 edition was held on Sunday, January 19th, according to the traditional rule of the Sunday following January 17th. January 17, 2025, fell on a Friday, and the festival was moved, as usual, to the following weekend.

The day followed the customary flow of the event: the celebration in honor of the saint, the popular devotion linked to the protection of animals and stables, and the gathering of inhabitants in the spaces of the historic center. A few days later, on January 20th, Forano celebrated its patron saint, Saint Sebastian, the second event of a January traditionally rich in festivals for the Sabine village.
