Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony of Padua in Tagliacozzo

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Anthony of Padua in Tagliacozzo coincided with the bicentenary of the Obelisk Fountain (1825-2025). The patron saint's solemnity was celebrated on June 13th with Mass at the Church of San Francesco at 5:30 PM and the renewal of the entrustment of the city keys to the Saint by Mayor Vincenzo Giovagnorio. The fountain, restored and reactivated on the eve of the feast, was adorned with white and yellow lilies.

The bicentenary of the Obelisk Fountain

The 2025 edition had a special significance: the Obelisk Fountain, erected in 1825 in honor of Saint Anthony, turned two hundred years old. From the evening of June 12th, the monument returned to the center stage of the square with new lighting and the complete restoration of the hydraulic system and its water jets.

The patron saint's solemnity was celebrated on June 13th with Mass at the Church of San Francesco at 5:30 PM. Mayor Vincenzo Giovagnorio renewed the symbolic gesture of entrusting the city keys to the Saint, reading a prayer composed by the Conventual Fathers to invoke protection over Tagliacozzo. The statue of the Saint, during the procession, stopped in front of the Obelisk, which was adorned with white and yellow lilies. As per tradition, the administration maintained a sober style, living the day in a spirit of reflection and unity for the Marsica community.
