Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Anthony

Devotion to Saint Anthony of Padua in Cittaducale represents one of the most deeply felt traditions of this Rieti village. Every year, near the liturgical feast day of June 13th, the local community gathers around the figure of the Saint of Padua, preserving a cult that is rooted in the town's history and the ancient veneration of the 'machine of the Saint'.

In Cittaducale, in the Rieti province, the cult of Saint Anthony of Padua is an integral part of the community's identity. The devotion, linked to the Angevin and Franciscan origins of the village, has been passed down from generation to generation, guarded by brotherhoods and popular associations. The symbol of this tradition is the historic 'machine of the Saint', an imposing 19th-century structure kept in the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Popolo, which is carried on the shoulders of the faithful during the procession. Around the June anniversary, the historic center becomes a place of faith and encounter, a testament to the deep bond between the citizens and their patron saint.
