Edition 2025 — Saint Anthony Abbot Ateleta

In 2025, Ateleta once again celebrated Saint Anthony Abbot on January 17th, renewing the ancient fire ritual. The two bonfires in Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Carolina illuminated the Alto Sangro village, accompanied by the blessing of the animals, the parade of costumed horsemen, and festivities in the square with traditional Abruzzo food and music.

2025 Edition

The 2025 Feast of Saint Anthony Abbot took place in Ateleta on January 17th, as per tradition. The community set up the two large conical bonfires in Piazza XX Settembre and Piazza Carolina, which were blessed by the priest along with the village animals. The parade of costumed horsemen, accompanied by a band, crossed the town connecting the two squares, while the evening continued with food and music in a ritual that weaves together faith, pastoral culture, and the opening of Carnival in the Alto Sangro.
