Edition 2025 — Feast of Saint Anastasia

From August 20 to 25, 2025, Motta Sant'Anastasia celebrated its patron saint, Saint Anastasia, with the Festa Piccola. After the Sacred Triduum in the Mother Church, on August 22nd, the ceremonial candles of the three districts paraded through the town streets with dances in Piazza Umberto I amidst fireworks and marching bands. On August 23rd, the descent of the 'quartine' in medieval costume and the procession of the relics; on the 24th, the procession of the statue through the three districts; on the 25th, the historical pageant, the final evening Mass, and the concluding procession followed by fireworks.

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Saint Anastasia took place in Motta Sant'Anastasia (Catania) from August 20th to 25th, in the annual form of the Festa Piccola.

  • August 20-22: Sacred Triduum in the Mother Church, with the blessing of the 'quartine' and the devotional garments of the three districts.
  • August 22: Parade of the ceremonial candles of the Maestri, Vecchia Matrice, and Panzera districts, with traditional dances in Piazza Umberto I, accompanied by marching bands and fireworks.
  • August 23: Historical descent of the 'quartine' in medieval costume and procession of the Saint's relics, one of the most evocative moments of the festival.
  • August 24: Procession of the statue of Saint Anastasia through the town's three districts.
  • August 25: Historical pageant along the village streets, final Mass at 7:00 PM, and the concluding procession followed by fireworks.
