Edition 2025 — Madonna Addolorata Villalago
The 2025 Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows in Villalago was held from Thursday, September 4th to Saturday, September 6th. On Thursday afternoon, children paid homage to the Virgin with a floral procession towards the small church of the former Lupi palace, preceded by Holy Mass dedicated to the Family.
On Friday, the solemn procession saw the sacred image of the Madonna carried by women in mourning attire, accompanied by seven young girls dressed as 'verginelle', wearing black dresses with a sword at their waist, while the Introdacqua band played the Vella funeral march.
On Saturday evening, the most emotional moment: at dusk, with the lights off and the path illuminated only by torches, a long line of faithful accompanied the Madonna back to her chapel. The evening was enlivened by the Concerto di Ricordi band. An intense edition that confirmed the deep bond between the Villalago community and its Marian tradition.
