Edition 2025 — Our Lady of Light Isernia

In 2025 as well, the Feast of Our Lady of Light drew the faithful to Isernia around the Marian icon kept in the Cathedral, with the day's holy masses and the Via Lucis torchlight procession, preceded on the vigil by the celebration of the Akathistos Hymn.

The Feast of Our Lady of Light 2025 in Isernia followed the usual devotional pattern of May 10th: holy masses in the Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle and the evocative Via Lucis torchlight procession towards the Cathedral, the central moment of the day.

As per tradition, the vigil was dedicated to the celebration of the Akathistos Hymn in honor of the Virgin of Light, an ancient Marian hymn that opens the festivities in the heart of the Marian month.

Programme

The 2025 calendar followed the usual structure: vigil with Akathistos Hymn on May 9th, holy masses on May 10th in the Cathedral, and the Via Lucis torchlight procession.
