Feast of Maria SS. del Bosco (Patron Saint of Niscemi)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS. del Bosco marked the 426th anniversary of the discovery of the sacred image. The 'Feast at the Sanctuary' took place until May 31st, with the Sanctuary open from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM, daily masses, rosary, confessions, and numerous pilgrimages of devotees heading to Niscemi from neighboring towns.

On May 21st, the highlight day featured the Eucharistic celebration, pilgrimages by associations, the evening 'Lucerna a Maria' torchlight procession, and a concelebration presided over by the bishop with a floral tribute from the Mayor. On the Sundays of late May, the sacred painting was carried in procession from the Sanctuary to the Mother Church and returned to the Sanctuary at the end of the Marian month. In August, during the second week, the city procession, the Palio delle Tre Bandiere, and cultural and musical events were renewed in the center of Niscemi.
