Feast of Maria SS. Annunziata (September)

The 2025 edition of the Feast of Maria SS. Annunziata took place on Monday, September 8th in Alcara li Fusi, in the heart of the Messina Nebrodi. As per centuries-old tradition, the 16th-century Annunciation sculptural group was carried in procession from the small Annunziata church, traversing the narrow streets of the ancient Motta district.

The most evocative moment was the placement of the small statue of the Eternal Father onto the dome of the float from the balcony of a private home. After the solemn Holy Mass in the Mother Church, the evening concluded with the community's act of entrustment to the Virgin, the candlelight procession, and the fireworks. The feast was organized by the local confraternity.
