Three days of performing arts, circus, and music in the village of Corinaldo
The Feast of Fools is a performing arts event held in the historic center of Corinaldo, a charming medieval village in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. Listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and famous for its intact city walls, Corinaldo hosts this event every spring, celebrating "healthy madness" and creative freedom, transforming alleys, staircases, and squares into a widespread open-air stage.
The program combines street theater, contemporary circus, comedy, acrobatic performances, concerts, and DJ sets. Shows take place in various parts of the village from afternoon until late evening, accompanied by food and wine stalls featuring local products. The free, itinerant format invites the public to wander through the streets in search of unexpected encounters, embodying the spirit of the festival itself.
Among the most beloved elements is the "Passaporto da Matto" (Crazy Passport), a jocular ritual that symbolically allows visitors to join the community of Corinaldo's "fools." Alongside it, you'll find street games, the step-by-step game TSO (Trova Scopri Osserva - Find Discover Observe) to explore the historic center, installations, workshops, and activities designed to engage both adults and children.
Organized by the association Combusta Revixi together with the Gruppo Storico Cittร di Corinaldo, the Feast of Fools has been certified Ecofesta since 2025, demonstrating a concrete commitment to environmental sustainability. The presence of indoor facilities ensures that shows can proceed even in case of bad weather, while the program, suitable for all ages, makes it an ideal destination for families and those wishing to discover the authentic atmosphere of a Marche village.
The event traditionally takes place on the last weekend of April, around Liberation Day, attracting thousands of visitors to the Municipality of Corinaldo from all over the Marche region and beyond.
The thirteenth edition of the Feast of Fools was held from April 24 to 26, 2026, in Corinaldo, on the theme "this year we fly." Three days of free shows transformed the village into a widespread stage for performing arts, circus, and live music.
The opening on Friday, April 24, featured incursions by Rufino Clown, performances by the duo Barbadicapra and Chiazza, and in the evening, a concert by the band Kurnalcool celebrating their 40th anniversary, followed by a DJ set by Morru. Saturday, April 25, a busy day with an artisan market, street games, puppet theater by Bottega Imata, Laughter Yoga, and guided tours; in the evening, a concert by Brutti di Fosco (Celtic folk) and a DJ set by Marty Roxy. Sunday, April 26, featured the urban theatrical trek "Le rame da matto," the Teatro delle Bandiere by Combusta Revixi, and the closing concert by the trio Comelinchiostro.
Among the guests were the French clown Agro the Clown with Improlocura, the truck-based theater of Bottega Imata, and the South Tyrolean acrobatic circus Circensema. The unmissable "Passaporto da Matto", the TSO step-by-step game, and the Crazy Run were also featured. Admission was free, and the event was confirmed as Ecofesta.
Corinaldo is located in the hinterland of the province of Ancona, a few kilometers from Senigallia. By car: from the A14 motorway, take the Senigallia exit, then follow SP12 towards Corinaldo. By train: arrive at Senigallia station on the Adriatic line, then take a bus connection to the village.
Free admission to all shows. Some activities require booking or have limited capacity (such as guided tours). Events run from the afternoon until late evening in the streets and squares of the historic center.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking on the cobblestone streets and staircases of the village. In case of bad weather, shows will be held in indoor venues. Food stalls with local specialties will be open during the event.
