Favolando – Tales at snack time, theatre at breakfast

The 2025 edition: POP-UP, theatre from book to stage

Before adopting the name Favolando, the children's theatre festival at Fortezza Est took place in 2025 under the title POP-UP. Theatre from book to stage, from May 17 to June 15, also at via Francesco Laparelli 62, in Tor Pignattara, in the Municipality of Rome.

The project—also a winner of a public tender by Rome Capital—proposed a selection of shows based on children's literature, with recommended ages ranging from 3 to 5 years depending on the titles, and the stated goal of building a bridge between generations. Every Sunday afternoon, animated readings in the JUKE-BOOKS space accompanied young spectators in discovering the books that inspired the performances. Admission was free with mandatory reservation: a formula that the following edition confirmed and relaunched.
