Farestoria Festival + Pistoia Docufilm Festival

In 2025, the Farestoria Festival debuted in Pistoia from July 7 to 11, promoted by the Historical Institute of the Resistance, centered on the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. Five days of meetings on anti-fascism, resistance, global capitalism, and environmental justice, with the patronage of the University of Florence and support from the Ministry of Culture. The closing evening, Il Novecento in gioco, featured historical board games about the 20th century.

During the same period, the fifth edition of the Pistoia Docufilm Festival brought the Arena Cinema di Porta al Borgo to life with the theme Symbols. Stories, flags, and songs of freedom, giving voice to Tuscan perspectives through three evenings of outdoor documentary cinema. All events were free of charge.
