Edition 2025 — Farchie of Fraine

On December 24, 2025, the Pro Loco of Fraine renewed the traditional farchie ritual along Via del Sole and Largo Santa Maria. Volunteers assembled, transported, and ignited the reed bundles at nightfall, in a fire ritual that united the entire community on Christmas Eve. Some participants wore recovered antique tabarri, with astrakhan collars, to restore historical authenticity to the ceremony.

2025 Edition: Fire and Tabarri

On the evening of December 24, 2025, the village of Fraine, in the Alto Vastese, celebrated the farchie ritual under the guidance of the Pro Loco presided over by Giacomo Di Pasquale. Volunteers lit the reed bundles along Via del Sole and the perimeter of Largo Santa Maria, creating a path of fires that illuminated the village center.

A novelty of this edition was the choice of some volunteers to wear recovered antique tabarri, the traditional cloaks with astrakhan collars, to strengthen the bond with the historical memory of the ritual. The community gathered around the flames to share Christmas Eve greetings, in a moment of strong collective identity.
