Fantafestival 45: forty-five years of the festival

The 2025 edition was held in Rome, at Spazio Scena on Via degli Orti d'Alibert, from Friday, November 21 to Sunday, November 30, 2025, preceded by a musical pre-opening on November 20. Under the artistic direction of Marcello Rossi and Luca Ruocco, the festival offered ten days of screenings with multiple daily slots starting in the late afternoon.

International guests included director Richard Stanley and Adam Mason; composer Fabio Frizzi held a musical masterclass, while Lamberto Bava received the Lifetime Achievement Golden Bat during the special screening event of Demons, alongside Dario Argento and Sergio Stivaletti. The latter curated the retrospective dedicated to the artisanal effects of pre-digital cinema. The program also included the Fantacorti compilations, the Panoramica Italia section, and the Famous Weirdos exhibition. Admission to all screenings was free.
