Edition 2025 — Sgabeo Festival

In 2025, the Fair with Chestnut Roasting and Sgabeo Festival enlivened Borghetto di Vara with over a hundred stalls, fried sgabei, roasted chestnuts, and chestnut desserts. Amidst vintage vehicles and folk music, the festival confirmed its role as a major autumn event in Val di Vara, attracting visitors from all over the province of La Spezia.

The 2025 edition of the Fair of Various Goods, Chestnut Roasting and Sgabeo Festival transformed the historic center of Borghetto di Vara into a lively autumn market. The over one hundred stalls and food stands offered fried sgabei stuffed with cured meats and cheeses, roasted chestnuts from local woods, castagnaccio, and chestnut fritters with new wine. The day was enriched by the exhibition of vintage cars and motorcycles and folk music, in a celebration that annually honors the flavors and traditions of the Val di Vara.
