A weekend to discover palaces, churches, and hidden places in Brescia
The FAI Spring Days are the most anticipated event of the Fondo Ambiente Italiano, and in Brescia they offer the chance each year to enter normally inaccessible places. During the spring opening weekend, the capital of the Province of Brescia showcases its lesser-known jewels: noble residences, secret courtyards, churches, archives, and even institutional headquarters that are revealed only on this occasion.
For the 2026 edition, seven sites are open for visits in Brescia's historic center, each with its own story to tell:
The openings in Brescia are part of a large national mobilization involving hundreds of Italian cities and thousands of volunteers.
The heart of the FAI Days are the Apprentice Ciceros: high school students who, after a training course, accompany visitors by illustrating the history and artistic value of each place. A concrete way to bring young people closer to the protection of cultural heritage and to give the city back the story of its roots.
The FAI Days are not limited to the center of Brescia: the province also participates with numerous openings, and throughout Lombardy, hundreds of sites are accessible. Visiting Brescia this weekend means becoming part of a national network of enthusiasts who, with a small contribution, support the preservation of Italian landscape and art.
The 2026 edition of the FAI Spring Days takes place on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22. In Brescia city, seven sites are open, while the province and all of Lombardy participate with dozens of other locations. Visits are accompanied by Apprentice Ciceros and supported by a free contribution starting from 3 euros.
In the province of Brescia and throughout Lombardy, additional sites are open as part of the national FAI campaign.
Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM (times vary for each location).
Free contribution starting from 3 euros to support FAI. Some locations are reserved for FAI members (possibility to join on-site).
The locations are distributed in the historic center of Brescia, reachable on foot from the train station and served by the city's metro.
Consult the official FAI website before your visit: opening hours and access procedures may vary from place to place, and reservations are required for some locations.
