Edition 2025 — FAI Spring Days Giovinazzo

The 33rd edition of the FAI Spring Days in Giovinazzo, held on Saturday, March 22, and Sunday, March 23, 2025, explored the female monastic presence in the ancient city. The FAI North Bari Group opened the church of San Giovanni Battista and the former Benedictine convent, with visits by voluntary donation starting from 3 euros.

In the 33rd edition of the FAI Spring Days, on Saturday March 22 and Sunday March 23, 2025, Giovinazzo told the story of the female monastic presence in the ancient city. The protagonist was the church of San Giovanni Battista, renovated in the 19th century: visitors were able to descend into the recently restored cemetery area and climb up to the matroneum, looking out through the lattices once used by cloistered nuns during services.

For FAI members, it was also possible to access the ancient striptula, now the entrance courtyard of Palazzo Severo Vernice, in a completely unique occasion. Visits took place in groups of up to 15 people, every 20 minutes: on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 9:30 PM (with a break from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM) and on Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with a suggested voluntary donation starting from 3 euros.
