Edition 2025 — Morgantina EYEXEI

The first edition of the festival, launched in 2025, marked the return of classical theatre to the Ancient Theatre of Morgantina and the Villa Romana del Casale. The programme, from July 4 to 17, featured Euripides' The Bacchae and Seneca's Medea directed by Daniele Salvo, and the play Volusiano, inspired by the work of archaeologist and writer Vittorio Malfa, starring Ugo Pagliai and Melania Giglio.

The first edition of the festival, in 2025, brought classical theatre back among the ruins of Morgantina (Aidone) and the mosaics of the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. The programme, spanning from July 4 to 17, featured The Bacchae by Euripides (July 4) and Medea by Seneca (July 6), both directed by Daniele Salvo. The festival concluded on July 17 with Volusiano, an adaptation of the work by archaeologist and writer Vittorio Malfa, performed by Ugo Pagliai, Melania Giglio, and Salvo himself. The success of this inaugural edition paved the way for the festival's return in 2026.
