Extra Virgin Olive Oil Festival

The 24th edition of the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Festival brought life to Ragalna on Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Piazza Cisterna, marking the end of the Autunno Ragalnese calendar and the Etna Markets. Starting at 10:00 AM, the stalls set up in the panoramic square offered tastings of pani cunzatu, bread seasoned with freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil, the true star of the day.

The heart of the festival was the extra virgin olive oil made from the Nocellara dell'Etna cultivar, the "green gold" with a fruity and delicate flavor that grows on the volcanic soils of the volcano's southern slopes. Alongside the tastings, the market of local products and local crafts completed a day of authentic celebration at the foot of Mount Etna, in the province of Catania.
