European Heritage Days (EHD)

The 2025 edition

The 2025 European Heritage Days were held throughout Italy on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture as part of the initiative promoted by the Council of Europe and the European Commission. The theme of the year, «Architecture: the art of building», invited visitors to read buildings and built landscapes as expressions of the history and aspirations of the communities that produced them.

In the Municipality of Rome, the program involved state museums, civic museums, archives, libraries, and research institutes, with guided tours led by Ministry officials and thematic itineraries related to the city's architecture. As per tradition, on Saturday evening, state cultural sites held a special evening opening with a symbolic 1-euro ticket, while almost all other initiatives remained free.
