EuroBirdwatch 2025 in Ostia: two days on the migratory route

On October 4 and 5, 2025, the Ostia LIPU Oasis participated in the 33rd edition of EuroBirdwatch, coordinated by BirdLife Europe. On Saturday, the program began at 10:00 with a guided birdwatching tour, followed at 15:30 by an educational workshop by reservation, and at 17:00 with a sunset outing. On Sunday, the day opened at 09:30 with a new guided tour, followed at 10:30 by workshops for children and at 11:30 by the presentation of the illustrated map «Ali del Giubileo», dedicated to birds nesting in churches and monuments along the Jubilee routes, with LIPU president Alessandro Polinori and illustrators Franco Sacchetti and Giuliana Pulvirenti.

Closing the weekend was the release of a wild animal treated by the LIPU wildlife recovery center in Rome. Throughout Europe, the edition confirmed the scale of the event, with hundreds of events and millions of birds surveyed.
