Edition 2025 — Ettore Scola Film Festival

The first edition of the Ettore Scola Irpinia International Film Festival took place in Trevico from August 5 to 9, 2025, with the awards ceremony on August 9 in Piazza Ettore Scola. Born from a project that won the Campania Region Film Commission call, the festival featured international feature films and Italian short films dedicated to the marginalized, accompanied by the «Scola, Prima!» review and an exhibition of historical posters at Palazzo Scola.

The first edition: cinema returns to Trevico

From August 5 to 9, 2025, Trevico, on the rooftop of Campania, hosted the first edition of the Ettore Scola Irpinia International Film Festival, with the awards ceremony on August 9 in Piazza Ettore Scola. Artistic direction by Silvia Scola and Fabio Ferzetti, promotion by the IrpiniaMia association, prizes of 3,000 euro for the best international feature film and 2,000 euro for the best Italian short film.

Alongside the competition, the «Scola, Prima!» review occupied the days from August 7 to 9 between Palazzo Scola, the Arena Ettore Scola, and Piazza Nicola Ferrara, with the exhibition «Half a Century of Cinema» curated by Paolo Speranza — historical posters of Scola's films, on display until August 31 — outdoor screenings, round tables, and a masterclass on archives. A debut that involved all the Baronia municipalities and convinced both the public and critics, leading the organizers to immediately plan the second edition.
