Edition 2025 — Etna Afro Festival

The tenth edition of the Etna Afro Festival took place in Acireale in August 2025. The festival opened on August 3rd in Piazza Duomo with a public dance lesson from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while the same square hosted the major evening concert on August 6th featuring thirteen artists from West Africa. The usual week of workshops and artist residencies dedicated to African rhythms and dances was confirmed.

Etna Afro Festival 2025 — The Tenth Edition

In 2025, the Etna Afro Festival celebrated its tenth edition in Acireale, in the province of Catania. On Sunday, August 3rd, a public African dance lesson was held in Piazza Duomo from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while on Wednesday, August 6th, the square hosted the major evening concert at 9:00 PM, featuring thirteen African musicians and dancers.

Organized by the Afrodanzando association, led by Marina Cannavò, and under the artistic direction of percussionist Mohamed Med Camara, the 2025 edition offered its usual path of workshops, percussion and dance courses, and artist residencies, guiding the audience on a journey to discover the rhythms and energy of West African artistic culture.
