Edition 2025 — Estate Teatrale Veronese
The 2025 edition of the Estate Teatrale Veronese, the 77th, took place from June 27 to September 22 at the Roman Theatre of Verona, the first stop of a three-year project inspired by natural elements, with Water as the common thread. The prose programme featured eleven national premieres and great classics reinterpreted in a contemporary way: Otello directed by Giorgio Pasotti with Giacomo Giorgio, Riccardo III by Andrea Chiodi with Maria Paiato, La Tempesta directed by Alfredo Arias, and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard.
Also on stage were Francesco Pannofino, Francesco Acquaroli, Paolo Sassanelli, Graziano Piazza, Claudio Casadio, and Lella Costa, the star of a Lysistrata. The Musical Contaminations section, from June 27 to July 28, offered ten events, opened on June 27 by Cat Power with a recreation of Bob Dylan's 1966 concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Marco Paolini with his Bestiario Idrico, dance, and family shows were also featured.
